IMR rebuilds Philadelphia Gear industrial drives for power generation, oil & gas, and heavy processing. Large-capacity in-house machining and gear cutting for every Philadelphia Gear unit.
Philadelphia Gear drives are engineered for high-horsepower, high-reliability applications in power generation and oil & gas. IMR's large-capacity machine shop — with turning capacity to 72" and gear cutting to 70" diameter — handles the large Philadelphia Gear units that most shops can't touch.
We work on the full range of Philadelphia Gear equipment — from legacy units to current production models.
Every Philadelphia Gear rebuild follows a documented process — from teardown through load test. No shortcuts, no guesswork.
Complete disassembly with photographic documentation. Every gear, bearing, shaft, seal, and housing is inspected and measured against OEM specifications.
We identify the root cause — not just the symptom. Overloading, misalignment, lubrication failure, contamination, and fatigue are all documented before rebuild begins.
Worn bores are re-machined to OEM tolerances. Shafts are repaired or replaced. Housings are cleaned, inspected for cracks, and restored to spec.
Worn or damaged components are replaced — gears cut in-house to AGMA standards, bearings and seals replaced with OEM-equivalent or upgraded parts.
Rebuilt units are assembled to OEM torque specs with fresh lubricant and new seals throughout.
Every major rebuild is load-tested on our 500 HP test stand. Vibration, temperature, and flow are verified before shipment.
Philadelphia Gear equipment is found in the most demanding industrial environments. We've rebuilt units for operations across every major heavy industry — often under emergency turnaround conditions.
